The most important thing
about our biscuits is of course the taste - but equally important is how we
achieve that taste. Is it done with artificial flavourings synthesised in a laboratory? Do
we make up for a lack of real ingredients with real taste by swamping the
biscuit with sugar? Do we pick the cheapest, poorest quality ingredients? Well,
actually, no.
First of all, we're strict about only using organic ingredients in all of our
biscuits. We can be sure therefore that there's nothing unexpected in them - no
pesticide residues and no nasty chemicals. It's also your guarantee that the
farms on which they were grown are truly environmentally sustainable, and
preserve rather than destroy the habitats and wild animals that share the
landscape with them. Have at

Secondly, we try to make biscuits with as close to a 'home made' recipe as
possible. This means that you'll find a short, clean recipe list on our cartons,
with a minimum of unintelligible names. We always prefer to use a real
ingredient that's grown, rather than anything that's been engineered in a
factory. So you won't find any hydrogenated fats, and no artificial flavours
(either artificial or 'natural'). For our Lemon Melts for example, we simply use
lemon oil squeezed from the peel of organic lemons for flavouring, and not lemon
'flavouring'. The same goes for our Chocolate Limes (with lime oil, of course).
There are a few things we include in our recipes that you might not find in your kitchen cupboards in quite the same form, or with quite the same name. To get info on these ingredients, and answers to your frequently-asked biscuity questions, click on the snappily titled 'Frequently Asked Questions'
